Every year more than 1 billion people in 192 countries celebrate International Earth Day–a day to learn, celebrate, come together and take action for the earth. When we discovered that the Earth Day concept was not well-known in The Netherlands, we decided it was time to do something about it! Hence, Earth Day The Netherlands 2015 and Earth Day The Hague 2016. This is a bilingual event (English and Dutch), and anyone interested in learning more about sustainable living and minimizing your impact on the environment is invited!
Planned events include: a fair with environmental non-profits and eco-vendors, soil and gardening workshops, lectures on the state of our oceans, as well as other topics, organic and fair trade food, musical performances and more. International Earth Day The Hague will be kicked off on the official Earth Day date of April 22nd by a 2:00 p.m. presentation by renowned Dutch environmentalist Maurits Groen.
The Earth Day festival will be held on Saturday, April 23, 2016 from 10:30-16:00 in the Christus Triumfatorkerk Juliana van Stolberglaan 154 2595 CL The Hague.
Planning committee includes Kristin Anderson, Mildred Berenschot, Ineke van der Berg, Lennart van de Linde, Amber van der Lans en Frouckje van der Wal.
